On November 6, 2023, St. Rita’s College of Balingasag starts its intramurals week to celebrate its 122nd Foundation Anniversary. It has been 122 years since SRCB was founded by a Jesuit Priest, Fr. Gregorio Parache, SJ. For over a century, SRCB has continued to deliver Quality Transformative Ignacian Marian Education – the kind of education that the school is aiming for a better learning experience and holistic development of each student.

With the theme, “SRCB’s 122 Years of Nurturing Lives: Shaping the Whole Person through Active Sports Engagement and Excellent Quality Education”, Lambigit 2023 kicked off through a Thanksgiving Mass at St. Rita’s Parish. It was followed by a parade around Poblacion. Then, the Opening Ceremony of Lambigit 2023 commenced. It was led by Ms. Melanie Cabugsa and Ms. Rita Pindo – teachers from the Basic Education Department.

The School President, S. Ma. Jesusita L. Bernate, RVM delivered her opening speech as she encouraged everyone to live out the values of leadership, sportsmanship, and honesty as the Lambigit 2023 Games are held this week.

Sister Jessie was also the one who lit the cauldron – the symbol that Lambigit 2023 officially commenced. After, Mr. Alfred G. Tahud, a BS Hospitality Management student, led the Oath of Sportsmanship. It is a promise that each Ritarian will be living out the values of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and honesty.

Right after the opening program of the whole institution, it was a time for the Higher Education Department students to showcase their talents during the Bench Cheering Competition 2023, held in the Assumption Audi-Gym. All HED students were really prepared and ready to fight to bring home the bacon.

In the afternoon, the Grade School, Junior High, and Senior High School had their Field Demonstration in which they became creative and innovative on the theme that was given to them per department. Various musical and dance production numbers became part of it.

All first set of competitions of both departments were successful. However, the rollercoaster ride of emotions for the first day was just about to begin as the most beautiful night of SRCB commences – the Search for Mister and Miss SRCB 2023! Cheers were loud, the crowd couldn’t contain their emotions every time their candidate appeared. The Search for Mister and Miss SRCB 2023 was co-presented by The Black Out Events and Productions who transformed the Assumption Audi-Gym to a whole new place. It was not just that but, also the pool of judges was up to the next level! Ms. Phoebe Jel Agocoy – Miss Kuyamis – Balingasag 2021, Ms. Laurice Faye Centino – Beauty Queen/Educator, Mr. Kelly Barro – a Professional Model, Mr. Jonathan Pascua – Mr. Liceo Ambassador 2023, and Ms. Jimema Tempra – Miss Philippines Earth – Air 2023 graced the event as they get to decide who among the 14 pairs to be the new Mister and Miss SRCB 2023. It was hosted by Ms. Josie Caminade and Mr. James Sandy Galamiton.
